David Reed has served in a wide range of positions in over twenty years as an education professional. He began his career as an admissions counselor at the University of Oregon. He went on to become the Laney College Outreach Coordinator, The Skyline College Learning Center Director, and the Caňada College Dean of Academic Support and Learning Technologies, before his most recent position as the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Director of Educational Support Systems. His success in these positions is exemplified by leading innovation in educational technology; introducing the first cloud-based student data tracking platform to the San Mateo County Community College District, developing online academic support content integrated within a learning management system, and leading key elements of CRM and enrollment management platform implementation at CLPCCD.
David Reed is a consultant, educator, and technologist committed to building solutions and practical strategies in the arenas of holistic student support, data optimization, and equity advancement. He uses the mediums of data visualization, process mapping, strategic goal-setting, and process consultation to help clients realize specific, measurable outcomes, and problem-solving strategies.
He has a strong history of board and committee service within the California Community College system and beyond, including serving on the boards of the National Council for Black American Affairs, and the Association of Colleges for Tutoring and Learning Assistance, and the California Community Colleges Distance Education Coordinators Organization, and the Library and Learning Resources Program Advisory Committee.
David Reed has published work on re-imagining the future of higher education, and is the author of a thought leadership series on proactive uses of technology to support California Community Colleges.
